Panzer Uniform

wrap. Notice how the three pips
are centered in the middle of his shoulderboards, as on the example above
from the museum. With the rank of
Generaloberst the pips are more often seen with the bottom two pips positoned
closer toward the shoulder seam, rather than in the center of the boards,
making Guderians choice of pip placement somewhat unique. The pip placement in this photo thus
matches that of the tunic example residing in the museum. There has been note made by several
collectors of militaria, that the collar tab insignia, shown in the close-up
photo below, may be representative of a post-war replacement. |
