These are examples of the incredibly high quality of workmanship in some of the replica field marshal batons that have been produced over the years. Occasionally these beautiful pieces from this particular maker are offered for sale and demand a price befitting their beauty and fine workmanship. Not all replica batons, however, are done to the high degree of quality of this maker.

A note on pricing of replica batons….

I am contacted often by collectors looking to obtain these high quality replica batons as well as by those curious about price. The price of these replicas are reflective of both the quality of manufacture that go into these fine pieces, as well as the upward trend of pricing in militaria in general. Of specific interest to note, the original cost in to make formal Generalfeldmarschall batons in 1940 was the equivalent of $1,200 U.S., which was a very nice annual professional salary at that time. Most of these higher quality replicas are produced by jewelers in the same manner and to the same level of quality as in the 1940’s. In comparison, todays price for replicas is a bargain. To provide a basis for what is being paid internationally for these replicas, I will list below the prices realized at Hermann Historica’s recent auction in May of 2007;

Luftwaffe GFM formal baton named to Kesselring: 9,000 Euros

Kriegsmarine Grand Admiral baton named to Donitz: 10,500 Euros
